2. Selection of Magnetic Core of the Eddy Current Sensor According to the electromagnetic theory, iron cores with high magnetic permeability have the trend and function of concentrating magnetic flux into the internal part of itself. A current carrying coil without the iron core generates the magnetic flux distributing among the whole space, however, if with an iron core, the flux will distribute along the core with larger amount which forms the magnetic circuit and is able to improve the measuring precision for sensors.
